Enough’s enough! ditch the stuff – get outdoors

Concerned about the future well-being of your children and want to do something about it? then this event is for you.

Date: 15th July 2012, 1-4pm

1pm Arrive at Kelbourne Street Scout Hall enjoy stalls with second hand outdoor gear, reports on nature and well-being, face painting. There will also be local organisations like Friends of the River Kelvin and the Children’s Wood, plus more.

1:30 Talk by Dr Carol Craig on materialism, nature and child-well-being

1:45 Nature workshops begin on North Kelvin Meadow.  Woodland Outdoor Kindergarten will be setting up camp in the Children’s Wood. The National Trust for Scotland, Woodland Trust and several forest school educators will be hosting nature events in the meadow for ALL ages of children.

3:30/3:45 Coffee and prize draws back in Kelbourne St Scout Hall

Nature workshops include activities like ‘den construction’ and ‘environmental art’ ‘bug hunt’ ‘finger puppets’ and more

  1. Friends of the River Kelvin are looking forward to taking part tomorrow, we want to know what sort of activities young people and families would like to enjoy by the River Kelvin, come along and tell us at our stall in the scout hall.
